"The Imperceptible Transmutations" (1904) is a Méliès magic act trick film that uses his oldest trick in the book in terms of cinemagic - stop motion substitution - and only that. Also, unlike what the film title suggests, there’s one such substitution shot where Méliès doesn’t quite hit his mark and the effect is very perceptible, unusual for him even in a bread-and-butter film.
